The International Flower Bulb Center (IFBC) is the organization is responsible for collective promotion and technical support for the Dutch flower bulb industry in countries around the world.
The history of IFBC goes back to 1925. In that year the bulb industry founded what was then called the Central Flower Bulb Committee and since 1986, has been called the IFBC.
The flower bulb market is divided into two sectors: forcing (flower bulbs used by professional growers for the production of cut flowers and potted plants) and dry sales (flower bulbs for garden planting, flower pots, landscaping and parks). IFBC conducts the following activities for these markets:
All Dutch flower bulb growers, brokers and exporters contribute to a common fund to finance the activities of the IBC and other
IBC's staff includes specialists in flower bulb cultivation and product information, marketing, trade promotion, exhibitions and audio-visual services. The IBC works closely with other Dutch and foreign organizations.
